Melanie Miller
Administrative Assistant
Melanie has attended McBIC her whole life and joined the McBIC staff in November 2023. In addition to working in the front office, she serves on a McBIC worship team, volunteers with the preschoolers, and helps edit the elementary school ministry lesson materials. Melanie is also an adjunct professor of music at Messiah University, teaches private brass lessons, and plays with performing groups in the area, including the Lancaster Brass Quintet. She is passionate about caring for vulnerable children in an effort to keep them out of foster care, when that is possible and appropriate, and her family serves as a host family for Safe Families for Children.
Melanie graduated from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music with a bachelor’s in music and a minor in business. She also received her master’s degree in trumpet performance from the University of New Mexico. She and her husband, Derek, have been married since 2000 and have four children: Benjamin, Katelyn, Emily, and Kylie. Melanie enjoys running, doing puzzles, hiking with the family, and making music with her children.
